Ramadan: a month of countless blessings

Ramadan month of fasting is one of the most revered months of the Islamic calendar. Each year millions of Muslims around the world celebrate this month with great sanctity and respect. Before Fajr prayer, Muslims wake up and eat Suhoor. 

Upon Fajr prayer, they intend to keep a fast by abstaining from food, drink and sex till dusk. At Maghrib prayer, they break the fast and eat Iftar. No matter how lengthy Ramadan timings are as certain countries experience very long days, Muslims keep fasts and enjoy the Ramadan month of blessings.  

Allah has blessed Muslims with Ramadan as the month of goodness and prosperity. The idea of fasting is to submit oneself to the will of Allah and believe that there is no Supreme Authority other than Allah. Moreover, by staying hungry for the whole day one realizes the pain impoverished people experience as routine in their lives. 

That is why during Ramadan month of giving, Muslims engage in a lot of charitable and welfare activities around the world. Allah encourages sharing a portion of one’s wealth with the needy and poor in the form of Zakat during Ramadan. Islam is a religion of collective good as it encourages the circulation of wealth. 

This way, everyone, rich or poor is able to enjoy Ramadan month of blessings.  To be able to fully benefit from Ramadan the month of blessings, one must enter the month with a clean heart. Holy Ramadan month of mercy and forgiveness brings people together as they seek love and forgiveness from their beloveds. One of the greatest worships in the eyes of Allah is protecting ties and relationships. 

People also tend to sit together at the Iftar table, bringing them closer to their beloveds. This is a greatly missing aspect in today’s fast-paced life that is blessed with the arrival of Ramadan.  Ramadan is the month to gain Allah’s approval and mercy by engaging in not just social endeavors but also worship and remembrance of Allah. 

People recite Holy Quran during this month establishing a close relationship with the Creator. The Holy Quran was revealed in this month, the reason why it is also referred to as Ramadan month of the Quran. By engaging in worship one has a great chance to make most of this holy month. 

The last ten days of Ramadan are a golden chance for every Muslim to increase their account of good deeds and worship, for Allah rewards immensely during the last five odd nights.  Here is a great chance for us to benefit from this blissful month. Spend Ramadan 2021 with the utmost respect by doing what is good and forbidding the wrong.
